MUDRA

Mudras are positions of the hand and fingers which are applied in many meditations and yoga poses and movements (asanas).

Each area of the hand connects to a specific part of the body or brain, representing different emotions and behaviours.

By bending, crossing, stretching and touching the fingers or certain parts of the hand, the energy flow is sealed.

Each finger relates to a planetary energy and the quality that each planet represents. The thumb relates to the persona of the individual.

Gyan Mudra is the most commonly used yogic mudra. The tip of the thumb touches the tip of the index finger. The index finger is associated with the planet Jupiter, representing wisdom and expansion. This mudra stimulates knowledge, inner calmness and receptivity.

“The physical body is a temple. Take care of it.

The mind is energy. Regulate it.
The soul is the projection. Represent it.
All knowledge is false if the soul is not experienced in the body.“
– Yogi Bhajan –
